There are several places of tourist attractions in Palampur that are worth visiting.
 
Palampur, the erstwhile part of the local Sikh Kingdom and later governed by British, has derived its name from 'Pulum' which means abundant water. In this scenic hill station tourists can very cozily pass their time in relishing natural beauty. However apart from its pristine natural beauty the sites that catch immediate attention are numerous and diverse. To say it this way, some of the very popular tourist attractions in Palampur that attracts visitors from around the world include Bir and Billing - these are the two adventure sites. Enclosed in the vicinity of tea gardens Bir is a landing ground for hang and Para gliders. It has various Buddhist monasteries and Tibetan handicrafts too. On the other hand Billing is one of the best aero sites. It offers high altitude and cross-country flying opportunities for over 200-km; and Baijnath - this tourist attraction in Palampur is famous for an ancient temple that was constructed in 804 AD. The temple is consecrated to Shiva Vaidyanatha.
 

There are other Palampur tourist attractions too that again witness huge tourist footfalls. These are Neugal Khad - it is located adjacent to the temple of Bundelmata temple. It is a 300-metre-wide chasm through which the Neugal stream flows; Bundla Stream - this stream is famous for its chasm that is over 100 meters wide; Andretta - it is a centre for several artistic activities that essentially include pottery; and Shobha Singh's Art Gallery - this is another noted tourist attraction in Palampur. It is located in the town of Andretta.

 
The Kangra Art Museum is located south of Lower Dharamsala tourist office. It has miniature paintings from the Kangra School of Art, which prospered in the Kangra Valley in the 17th century. It also displays some delicately embroidered Kangra costumes, along with woodcarvings and tribal jewelry.
